A Collection of Translations of Chinese Hip Hop Songs is originally an appendix of my Pioneer Academics research paper "The Transformation of Hip Hop Music Lyrics in China under Political Censorship from 2017 to 2018". As the collection includes 14 songs and their translated versions, it exceeds 50 pages. So I decide to post my appendix here.
Each blog features one song and includes links to MV or music, basic info, important notes that help readers to understand the lyrics, and its translated lyrics. The translations or the songs are only used for research purpose. Most lyrics are translated by myself. Some already have English subtitles in the MV, so I type them into the collection.
To help readers perceive the core of the songs, I translate from the real meanings of lyrics. Since the lyrics are translated from Chinese, some of them may lose their original taste, and some may not strictly comply with English grammar.
